Mrs. Scott's First Grade Blog: The week of March 5-9.

Kindergarten is busy with many things this week! It is Dr. Seuss dress up week and we are learning a lot about weather!

First of all Dr. Seuss dress up week is the talk of the day in kindergarten! Oh, the Thinks You Can Think about Twin Day! Twin Day is Friday. We have several kids dressing as triplets which is AOK! Today I went around the room and figured out who could twin/triplet with each other. I think we got everyone a partner(s). Check with your child and if you need an email address to converse about it, I can share it. A few of the kids have the exact same shirt, so they are wearing those. If they don't have the same clothing, wearing the same color is great too! Make it easy, that way no stress is on you! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Olympics We had such a great time at our Kindergarten Olympics on last Thursday! Thank you to Alisa Fiser for being animated with the events that needed movement! She was great as you'll see in the pictures below! Also thank you to Missy Donovan for manning two of the stations and helping me tremendously by keeping the kids on task! Enjoy the pictures! I hope your child told you about it!

Reading this week! Following our Social Studies, our reading unit is over weather! Today we began a daily temperature log coloring in the thermometer for 5 days. We are also filling out a weather book telling what the weather is and what one should wear on that day.

letter of the week: Yy. The capital Y is actually written just like the lowercase y but at the top!

Math this week! We will continue with addition, but each of the math sentences will begin with the sum (answer), 4=3 + 1.
