Welcome Back! It has been very different seeing some of the kids' faces! They are all handling it well whether they are with a mask or without a mask. We did talk about how it might be a good choice to wear a mask if they feel a cold coming on or have are having cold symptoms to help prevent the spread. Thank you for your conversations with your child before coming to school today! I appreciate it!
Also, thank you for making time to attend your child's conference! We had great things to say about your child's progress so far this year!
This week in ELA/Social Studies we are learning about Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President! It is a great time to talk about what he did for our country with February being Black History Month.
Phonics this week! Our next long vowel is the long e (e--we, be, me, etc.) (ee-weed, feel, see), (ea-read, seak, clean), e_e-these).
This is a harder concept to teach since both ee, ea are found in the middle of the word mostly.
Sight words from Phonics--find, around, under, wash
Math--2 digit addition and subtraction
We began 2 digit subtraction today only subtracting tens. We will also be revisiting fact families with the tens numbers.
20 + 30 = 50
50 - 20 = 30
George Washington
We used our quill feathers and black ink to write like George Washington! It was fun!
