The week of Oct. 30-Nov. 3.

What a busy week this week!  We are looking forward to our Halloween Party tomorrow!  We will be dressing in our costumes at 2:15.  It will be rushed since we are leaving specials early and we are the first ones to begin the parade.  So, the more help the better.  You will need to check into the office.

I let the class know that they can wear a mask, as long as they can see out of it.  However, no make-up or swords and wands.  Pretty much nothing in the hands for safety.  We should be back to our room by 2:45 to have our snack, craft, and game.  The party leaders are asking for plenty of help to man the stations!  You may take your child with you at 3:15 when the party is over.  You will just need to sign them out on my sheet.  You do not need to go through the office to check out.  Please let me know if you have any questions!

We have had fun learning about spiders!  What a 3 details your child can tell you about spiders?

This week in reading!  Our Essential Question is:  Why do living things have different needs?
We are reading 2 short informative stories this week.  We will be sequencing important details about each, learning about how captions and photographs help us learn more about what we read, what makes it nonfiction or fiction, and compare/contrast the two stories.

Sight words:  a, at, look
Letter of the week:  short Ii and long Ii
Our last color of the week:  orange

Math this week!
Topic 5   Counting, reading, and writing to 11 to 20.  Does your child know the numbers 11 to 20 in isolation?  Can they tell you how to write the numbers too?  These are things to practice with your child this week.

Tomorrow we are going to do some fun pumpkin math activities for Halloween!

Lunch money-- Tip of the day!  Please put any lunch money (checks or cash) in an envelope with your child's name on it and what the money if for on the front. It also helps to write what it's for on the subject line. I still do this for my senior.   You just never know if it'll drop out of his pocket or backpack.  If someone picks it up, they will know where it needs to go.  Thank you!
